US Economic Outlook for 2010
We will discuss the outlook for the US economy over the course of the next 12 months; i.e. inflation versus deflation and the financial market indicators to be watchful for with respect to being able to anticipate what is most probable in the future.
Learner Outcomes:By attending this session you will:
- Know what inflation and deflation are.
- Understand “money supply” and “money velocity” and why are they important.
- Know what an economic cycle is, leading, concurrent and lagging indicators.
- Understand the relationship between the stock market and the economy.
- Be able to determine what the US outlook for stocks, bonds, commodities, the dollar, and real estate, as well as economic activity are from here.
Government released economic reports are always improperly explained and interpreted by the media. We will explain why. The real relationship between the financial markets (stocks, bonds, commodities, and currencies) and their relationship to indicators of economic activity (money supply, bank loan growth, GDP, etc.) are wholly misunderstood by almost everyone. We will examine why and how to not be hoodwinked by it.
