WHAT DOES THE 2023 TAMPA “REINVENT” THEME MEAN?
Keynote and breakout speakers will focus on challenging assumptions and viewing issues from new perspectives. But the theme has a dual interpretation. It also means that the Committee will reinvent the Nerve conference experience by, among other things, creating a Pirate Pass option, organizing exclusive access, experiential offsites, and launching an online Nerve merchandise store.
WHAT EXCLUSIVE ACCESS, EXPERIENTIAL OFFSITES HAS THE 2023 NERVE COMMITTEE PLANNED?
Plans are being finalized but the list currently includes visits to MacDill Air Force Base, Home Shopping Network studios, Amalie oil factory tour, JC Neman cigar factory and behind the scenes at Tampa Intl Airport.
SHOULD I PURCHASE A TICKET EARLY?
Yes, early registrants benefit from the lowest current price and will have first shot to choose the offsite of his or her choosing when registration opens.
CAN I BUY CHEAP TICKETS A WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT?
No. The floor price for transferred 2023 Nerve tickets is $1,495 plus a $150 transfer fee.
WHAT IS THE CURRENT REFUND POLICY?
The event has a no-refund policy. However, ticket exchanges between members (or other qualified persons) at or above the $1,495 floor price plus a $150 transfer fee are permitted.
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY TRIP?
Given the unpredictability of travel, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance. Any cancellations of flights, tickets, or hotels will not be covered by the planning committee. We can transfer your Nerve ticket to another interested attendee (subject to the rules above).
WHO IS THE NERVE COMMITTEE?
Nerve conferences are not run or managed by EO but rather by a planning committee of EO member volunteers from numerous US East chapters. The 2023 Nerve Committee receives help from EO, but most decisions and work are made by the committee. Please don’t forget to thank your Committee members when you see them in Tampa.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AND LEAVE TAMPA?
Nerve starts after lunch on Oct 18th and ends late on the evening of Oct 20th. However, the EO Tampa Chapter has organized a slew of amazing pre-Nerve MyEO events (starting the evening of Oct 17th with a special dinner at the world famous Colombia restaurant) and a series of post-Nerve events during the day and evening of October 21st. Many are posted but others will be released in the coming months.
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
Come prepared for sun and warm weather, and of course come prepared in the unlikely event of rain. Definitely bring a bathing suit to take a dip in the Marriott’s rooftop pool. Our learning sessions are all indoors and the two hotels are connected via a 3rd floor skywalk. In the hotel, the ballrooms and breakout rooms tend to be a bit chilly, so a light jacket, sweat shirt or sweater is recommended. The event socials are outside but there are covered areas at each one.
The Friday offsites are mostly indoors but some are outdoors. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for offsites and other appropriate activities.
Dress code for socials is business casual, except Thursday night (Oct 19, 2023) which is pirate casual. Pirate costumes can be pre-ordered from Pirate Fashions and they will be picked up at the Nerve registration desk. Members should write in the notes section of the shopping cart that he or she will pick up at NERVE23. If picking up onsite, the shipping will be refunded when you pick up your order.
